I’ve been fortunate to be able to follow my career passions my entire life. I began my career at PriceWaterhouse Coopers in Canada gaining experience in their audit, tax and small business departments. I moved to public industry and had the opportunity to develop my skills in accounting and management within the private sector holding progressive roles in the finance group of a large public company and also being a business owner of a small company. I returned to public accounting at Sassetti after selling the small business. I am a trusted business and tax advisor for privately held companies, entrepreneurs, trust and estate administrators and high net worth individuals. My public and private sector experience gives valuable insight to help clients through mergers and acquisitions, exit and succession planning, client accounting services and many other things that my clients might not have even thought about asking.

Q&A
Make a prediction about your industry or the clients you serve.
Automation will continue to impact the accounting industry. CPAs and their clients will need to embrace and implement automation as it becomes available and evolves to continue to be profitable. I believe the saying is adapt and innovate or your company will die.
What is it about Accounting that attracted you to the field?
Math – I know that’s crazy for all of you left brain people.
What drew you to Sassetti?
I returned to public accounting when my children were pre-school age and was looking for a “home” that embraced work life balance. I feel very fortunate that I found Sassetti who not only embraces and supports 100% work life balance.
Who is someone you look up to (living or passed) and why?
I feel fortunate to have developed a relationship with an informal mentor right from the start of my career. They encouraged me to try new things and learn by doing. Having someone in your corner that helps with your career progression and gives you sound advice when you are thinking of making changes is part of what has enabled me to have the great background and experience that I have.
Describe your work style.
Adaptable, detail oriented, capable of balancing multiple priorities and deadlines, reliable, honest, self-motivated, want everyone on the team to succeed
What is you greatest accomplishment?
Personal – Successfully (hopefully) raising two Gen Zs. Professional – Achieving the highest mark in the province on the Canadian CA exam (equivalent to the CPA exam)
What do you love most about your job?
Interacting with my clients and knowing that I have helped them minimize their taxes.
What other job could you picture yourself having?
In another life, I could imagine myself as a book reviewer or an author…although then I guess I would be doing taxes for fun in my spare time.
Describe yourself in one word.
Self-motivated.
What is one thing on your bucket list that you want to make sure you check off?
Visiting Australia.
