Please join us in honoring Jim Robbs, a cherished colleague, mentor, and friend, as he embarks on his well-deserved retirement.

It is with mixed emotions that we say farewell to Jim Robbs at the end of the year.  After a remarkable journey that began in 1980 at Grant Thornton, Jim has left an indelible mark on our firm and the many lives he has touched throughout his career.

A proud graduate of DePaul University with a degree in Accounting, Jim rose through the ranks to become partner at Grant Thornton, leading their audit team before transitioning to the role of CFO at Circuit Systems. However, his passion for public accounting drew him back, leading him to Sassetti. What started as a trial quickly evolved into a perfect fit, as Jim thrived in building close relationships with clients and mentoring the next generation of accountants.

Since joining us, he has been a transformative force, becoming a partner in 2011 and taking on the role of managing partner in 2014. His leadership was instrumental in restructuring the audit department and implementing policies that propelled Sassetti to new heights as a mid-sized firm. Jim led our first-ever merger in 2016 with Brennan and Brosnan LLC and played a pivotal role in us joining the BDO Alliance in 2014, both of which have significantly shaped the firm’s future.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jim has been a constant source of support, encouragement, and inspiration to all, helping to cultivate a leadership team that will carry his legacy forward.

As he embarks on this new chapter, we wish Jim all the best in his retirement. May he enjoy plenty of time on the golf course, create wonderful memories with Rosie and his children, travel to new destinations, and finally find time to relax and sleep in!
